The Super Bowl, one of the biggest events for the human race every year, usually attracts two kinds of people. There are those that are actually interested in the game and the outcome, and those that are more interested in the television ads that run during the game.
And when it comes to those ads, few companies do it as well as Budweiser. You may not even like beer that much but odds are the Monday after the Super Bowl you’ll be talking about one of their ads to someone.
They almost always connect with people thanks to a mix of either tugging at the heartstrings, featuring adorable animals or using media personalities in ways that people remember and enjoy.
For their new Super Bowl commercial advertising Bud Light Seltzer Hard Soda, they decided to go with the last one and who better to use then the Mayor of Flavortown himself, the one and only Guy Fieri?
Guy Fieri is the King in his new Bud Light Seltzer Super Bowl ad.
In the ad, which was released this week online, Fieri plays a role he knows well. Instead of the Mayor, he’s the King of the Land of Loud Flavors where all the residents bear a striking resemblance to the host of Guy’s Grocery Games.
It’s hard to believe that this is Fieri’s first ever Super Bowl commercial. The over the top chef and food icon seems like a natural fit for the spectacle and hype that the Super Bowl represents every year. However, as Fieri told People, he’s beyond excited to be working with Bud Light.
"“Teaming up with Bud Light Seltzer for my first Super Bowl commercial feels like being the No. 1 draft pick. This team has always made the best commercials and I’m stoked I get to play for them.”"
Bud Light Seltzer Hard Soda, other than having a ridiculously long name, adds a splash of classic soda flavors to the hard seltzer category of adult beverages. Flavors include Cola, Cherry Cola as well as Orange Soda. And if Guy Fieri is to be believed, they are among the loudest flavors you will ever experience.
The full spot will air on February 13 during Super Bowl LVI when the Cincinnati Bengals will face off against the Los Angeles Rams in California.
