Ruffles and LeBron James introduce new Flamin’ Hot chip flavor
By D. Goodman
It’s pretty safe to say that even if you don’t know a basketball from a tennis ball that you know who LeBron James is. The NBA superstar has long been a household name, which is exactly why Ruffles teamed with the Lakers guard for a multi-year deal.
The first result of this partnership was the Ruffles D.N.A ad which arrived last year. It saw James talking about the challenges, or “ridges” that made him the person he is today. And I really hope the advertising exec who came up with that idea got a raise.
Now just in time for the NBA All-Star Game, taking place this year in Cleveland, Ohio which just happens to be the hometown of one LeBron James, the two are teaming up again for a new ad to introduce a new flavor of potato chip.
According to the press email Guilty Eats received, this time James and Ruffles are introducing the brand new Flamin’ Hot Cheddar and Sour Cream chips, the latest addition to the Ruffles Flamin’ Hot family of products.
New Ruffles and LeBron James ad arrives just in time for the NBA All-Star Game.
In the new ad, James is sitting and contemplating his two favorite Ruffles flavors, Flamin’ Hot and Cheddar and Sour Cream. He combines the two into a single bite and viola! A new Ruffles flavor of potato chip has been born.
The new television spot is scheduled to start airing during NBA All-Star Weekend, where James will be competing with a who’s who of basketball talent. Over the years it has become one of the biggest events on the NBA calendar and the perfect time to introduce a new product for Ruffles.
The new ad should be airing by the time you read this, so you can head out and get some of the latest Ruffles flavor for yourself. I mean, how could LeBron James be wrong about anything?
