The temps are finally rising and warm weather means it’s time for cold snacks. Ice cream ranks as an anytime, any weather snack in my book, but there’s just something about enjoying an ice cream cone in the warm sunshine that hits differently.

Van Leeuwen, the well-known ice cream company, has some great news for fans. On March 28th, they are releasing their newest ice cream flavor: Raspberry Layer Cake. The ice cream will be available at both local scoop shops and limited distribution in Hannaford and Big Y grocery stores. From a press email, here’s how the elements of Raspberry Layer Cake come together:

"“We mix in pieces of soft, fluffy yellow cake with vanilla ice cream. Then we add in swirls of sweet and tart raspberry. You add your spoon. Before you know it we have a mouth band.”"

Van Leeuwen has a new ice cream flavor: Raspberry Layer Cake!

The company started as an NYC food truck in 2008 and has evolved to having scoop shops in five states throughout the country, with additional stores opening soon in Colorado and Connecticut. Their ice cream pints and bars can also be found in grocery stores.

Van Leeuwen creates their ice cream using simple ingredients.  They “want to create the best ice cream for all” and make both traditional and vegan ice cream.  While they sell traditional ice cream flavors like Vanilla Bean and Mint Chip, they also have more unconventional flavors like Earl Grey Tea and Marionberry Cheesecake.  However, they are probably most known for their infamous limited edition Kraft Macaroni & Cheese flavor. This flavor, by the way, is currently available for purchase on their website.

Vegans (and folks avoiding dairy) can enjoy flavors like Cookie Crumble Strawberry Jam, Cookies & Cream Caramel Swirl, Oat Brown Sugar Chunk and more.

Guilty Eaters, have you tried Van Leeuwen ice cream? What’s your favorite flavor? Will you be trying the new Raspberry Layer Cake?
