As someone who grew up in Massachusetts, Friendly’s is more than just a household name for food and ice cream. It was a Friday night destination. It’s the place we would go to celebrate the good times and enjoy a sweet treat after a long week.

And while things may have changed over the years, Friendly’s continues to be a mainstay for many of us. But now, according to the foodies over at Chew Boom, it seems that they are giving their menu a bit of a refresh. And that means adding 12 new items to the menu that are able to appeal to a wider demographic of diners.

Not only do the new items offer something delicious for a younger demographic of eaters, but it also has dishes for longtime fans.

Friendly’s adds 12 new items for a Spring menu refresh

So what are the new Friendly’s menu items?

  • Doritos Cool Ranch ChoppedCheese Burger – For this burger it’s all about kicking things up a few notches. The burger is topped with pepper jack cheese, jalapeno peppers, onions, salsa, a ranch dressing, and Cool Ranch tortilla chips. And it all goes on a grilled ciabatta roll to complete the deliciousness.
  • Tater Kegs – They had me curious with the name of this one and apparently it is being described as, “Five jumbo tater kegs stuffed with Cheddar, bacon and chives, topped off with sour cream.”
  • Cheese Skirt Burger – This burger has a literal skirt of cheese made with both cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses that have been crisped up. Then the whole thing is topped with onions, Thousand Island dressing, tomato, lettuce, and pickle chips.
  • $100,000 Cobb Salad – No lie, the name of this one scared me because I was like who is paying that much for a salad at Friendly’s! But then I read the description which reads, “A hearty salad topped with boiled egg, crumbled Bleu cheese, chopped bacon, cranberries, golden raisins, diced tomato and savory thin sliced chicken breast tossed with Lite Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.” It’s a catchy name for a salad that definitely sounds tasty.
  • Jammed-Up Burger – With this new burger, Friendly’s is giving us a patty topped with white cheddar cheese, a cheesy beef brisket, tomato and lettuce with a fig jam topping. And yes, this one is also on a toasted brioche bun.
  • Chicken Caesar Salad – Can you ever really go wrong with a classic chicken Caesar salad? I think not.
  • Tex-Mex Alfredo Taco Pasta – I mean this name sold me without even reading the description. But of course, knowing exactly what this creation entails certainly helps get our hunger kicked into high gear. “A Bolognese style Tex-Mex meat sauce and hearty pasta tossed in a creamy Alfredo Sriracha taco sauce. It comes served with toasted ciabatta bread.”
  • Aloha Stir Fry Chicken – This stir fry dish gives us crisp chow mien noodles with chicken and veggies cooked with a pineapple rice in a sauce. It sounds like a light and flavorful meal for all of our taste bud needs.
  • Bangin’ Beef Stroganoff – I love beef stroganoff, especially on colder nights. And when I read that this dish gave us sliced sirloin steak as the beef to go along with the mushrooms, onions, and pasta in a garlic sauce, I knew I had to try this one, even if the temperatures are on the rise.
  • Oven Roasted Beef Brisket – With this menu item, take six ounces of Friendly’s extra tender brisket, and then serve it “with steamed vegetables, gravy-topped garlic red skin mashed potatoes, and thick ciabatta toast.” Sounds like a satisfying meal to us!
  • American Cheese Brisket SuperMelt – A Friendly’s SuperMelt is not to be missed and with this deliciousness, we get a parmesan-grilled sourdough that has been stacked with American cheese and beef brisket. It is a simple but amazing sandwich that is all about the melty cheese.
  • Grilled Chicken Mozza SuperMelt – And finally there is another SuperMelt, this time going with a mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese with roasted red peppers, a pesto sauce, and grilled chicken breast. This sounds like an Italian-inspired masterpiece and we can’t wait to dig into this one!

Honestly, this entire menu sounds mouthwateringly delicious and we can’t wait to work our way through all 12 of these new additions.
