Once again, Burger King fans in the United States have reason to feel left out. It’s a feeling we should all be getting very used to by now thanks to all the new and innovative ideas the fast food chain have introduced everywhere but here.

A few weeks ago it was the Peanut Butter Stacker that made its debut in South Korea. And while sure, nobody really wants peanut butter on their cheeseburger, it’s still just another example of Burger King being creative in another part of the world.

And while their latest idea may not push the boundaries of creativity, it’s still a great concept. One that once you hear about it you will find it difficult to think that someone didn’t think of it a lot sooner. Because really, the Hashtag Burger may just be the perfect idea for the times we live in.

That is the new burger idea that, according to Chewboom, is arriving at Burger King locations in Thailand. And considering how everything has a hashtag of it’s own now, it could be one of the most obviously genius ideas ever thought up.

So what exactly are a Burger King Hashtag Burger and Hashtag Fries?

To understand the Hashtag Burger, you first need to know about the Hashtag Fries. So what are they? Basically they are nothing more than waffle fries that are made from potatoes that have been imported from the United States.

Because, you know how a waffle fry kind of looks like a hashtag? Get it?

Anyway, take those Hashtag Fries and then put them on a burger made from an Australian beef patty topped with American cheese, BBQ sauce and mayo all between a sesame seed bun and you get a Hashtag Burger.

Because like I said, waffle fries kinda look like a hashtag? You with me so far?

As I mentioned, this could be the most stunningly simple yet ingenious idea ever created and I think we can all agree both items would do gangbuster sales here in the States. Can you imagine people putting pictures of their Hashtag Burger on Instagram with the hashtag #hashtagburger? It’s so meta I can barely stand it.
