There may not be any news about the next season of Crime Scene Kitchen but one of the judges and baking extraordinaire Yolanda Gampp does have a new cookbook coming out next month! And it’s about cake. What’s better than that?

The new book is called Layer Up!: The Ultimate Glow Up Guide for Cakes and it will be out on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. The book will feature cakes with unique flavor profiles as well as stuffed cake recipes. The only thing better than a cake is a stuffed cake!

And beyond the cakes, there will also be 72 standalone desserts as well as toppings and buttercreams.

The book is split up into a couple of different sections. One of them is all about the surprise inside the cake. In this section, there is everything from sprinkles to actual desserts stuffed into cakes and when you cut them open, it spills (or oozes) out. Cakes cannot get more fun than that.

The next section is all about layers. You’ve never seen layered cakes like these. These cakes are piled high and the layers are not only cake. They are other desserts piled between the layers too. Think cookie dough, key lime pie, and cheesecake!

There is also a section called all about stylish cakes that are also delicious Yolanda Gampp makes sure the outside of the cake is just as delicious-looking on the outside as it is delicious on the inside. And this is without fondant!

Looking for a dessert to bake in a short period of time? There is also a section on cakes and desserts you can make that don’t take a lot of time.

There is also a section for all of us that like to eat sweets for breakfast. These are mostly pastries and desserts but I don’t think anyone is going to complain about that.

You can currently preorder Layer Up! on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and pretty much anywhere you can buy cookbooks.

With season 2 of Crime Scene Kitchen not looking like it’s coming anytime soon (sobs), this is a great way to get your Yolanda Gampp fix.
