It looks like it’s not just the fashion industry taking inspiration from the Y2K trends. Why? Because Pop-Tarts seems to be the latest brand to jump on the Y2K snacking vibes. And that means that they have brought back a fan favorite Y2K flavor.

According to a press release dropped by Pop-Tarts on April 18, the brand is giving the fans what they want – Frosted Grape Toaster Pastries! This classic (or vintage if you will) flavor will begin hitting shelves in May across the country and in a variety of stores. (The Frosted Grape Pop-Tarts have already been released in Walmart locations, if you had already seen this flavor and were wondering why we mentioned their May release.)

But if you never had the opportunity to try this nostalgia inducing flavor, then you may not know what makes this toaster pastry such an iconic return.

In the press release, they remind us exactly what made these so popular back in the day.

"The nostalgia-inducing Flavor Drop returns with the same grape jelly flavored filling, white icing and purple crunch-lets that gave it such a beloved reputation way back when."

It’s the grape jelly of it all that has us hooked! And clearly we are not alone as this is a flavor that has been requested repeatedly. In fact, it seems to be a flavor that is at the top of the request wish list!

An on-again, off-again Pop-Tarts flavor for decades, it seems like the Frosted Grape is here to stay and that means that fans can cue the nostalgic moments, turn on the Clueless or She’s All That, and get their grub on.

As part of the launch, the brand even did an entire Y2Grape giveaway where they wanted fans to show off their love of the grape and the Y2K vibes. This meant showing off those frosted grape locks on social media and tagging Pop-Tarts in the efforts.

While we may not have gotten in on that grape-y endeavor, we are totally here for the return of this nostalgic toaster pastry flavor! But what do you say Guilty Eaters? Are we excited for this return?
