Fast Food: 10 greatest Jack in the Box menu items of all-time
You know the feeling…you want something to eat, but you aren’t sure if you’re feeling burgers or tacos, breakfast, or even some Asian cuisine. You’re passing by restaurant after restaurant and you just can’t decide because you want a little of everything. Well, you’re in luck because Jack in the Box has something for everyone. Today we’ve decided to look at 10 of the greatest Jack in the Box menu items of all-time.
The chain is older than you would perhaps think; founded in 1951 by Robert Oscar Peterson, and he’s a lot more important to the fast food industry than you would have probably expected. He revolutionized the industry by having the first-ever drive through window with an intercom system, and well, if you know your fast food chains, then you know that a fast food establishment just isn’t a fast food establishment without a duo drive through window and intercom system.
Well, a lot happened on the way from 1951 to now, including a whopping 2,200 locations in the United States alone by 2020.
So when one type of cuisine just won’t do, why not visit an establishment that has it all under one roof? Here are the greatest Jack in the Box menu items of all-time…
10. Chocolate Overload Cake
Who says you can’t start with dessert and finish with something savory? Some folks like to do just that, and in this case, we’ve decided to go for one of their greatest dessert items.
You want explosive chocolate taste? Then you’ve come to the right place. This one is sweet, moist, gooey, and oh-so-delicious. Perfect for the start, or even the end of any meal.
9. Mini Churros
And why not stick with the whole dessert realm of your meal for this entry? These ones here will deliver. No…they’re not from a stand somewhere in the beautiful country of Spain or even the equally beautiful landscape of Portugal, where the churros are authentic and as perfect as a slice of pizza from Naples would be, but they come close enough.
Remember, you’re going to a fast food place where everything is mass-produced. You can’t expect perfection, but this one delivers and certainly holds steady at number nine.
Now with the sweets out of the way, we can concentrate on the savory portion of the Jack in the Box menu.
8. Meat Lovers Breakfast Burrito
On to breakfast then. Breakfast food items are definitely a go-to for many individuals out there—including this writer—and Jack in the Box is the perfect place to enjoy their many options of breakfast foods…specifically this one.
Not everyone does burritos justice, but they do it right here; especially the meat lovers option. Complete with bacon, sausage, ham, scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese, what else could you want?
7. Jack’s Teriyaki Bowl
And for something with an Asian flair and even a little healthier, here we have something that’ll both satisfy and be good for the old waistline all at the same time.
Sautéed veggies, rice and grilled chicken, this one here will get you fed and make you happy, without any added need to count calories.
6. Chicken Club Salad
And staying with the healthy kick, this one here sure delivers if you’re looking to have something healthy all while enjoying a treat.
Some say to stay away from salad at fast food places, but sometimes, when you’re trying to take care of yourself but want to treat yourself to an afternoon out, there’s nothing like this item; it’s always fresh and tasty.
5. Sourdough Jack
Sourdough bread isn’t for everyone, but if you like it, combined with Jack’s tasty meat patties, this one delivers as well.
Swiss cheese, hickory bacon, the famous Jack in the Box beef patties, mayo, ketchup and even fresh tomatoes, it’s the perfect burger to start the burger portion of this list.
4. Classic Buttery Jack
It’s all in the name really, but the ingredients are as tantalizing as its name, trust me. The buttery bun just adds to the typical burger items…the combo is the perfect flavor explosion that will satisfy any burger craving you might get.
3. Ultimate Cheeseburger
And to complete out little trio of burgers, we’ll go with the Ultimate Cheeseburger that really is as simple as it gets. Of course there are two types of cheese, both American and Swiss, and two beef patties and ketchup and mustard. The simplicity is what take this one over the edge and lands you in that content state of having just enjoyed something that is stable, consistent and delicious.
The same feeling you get when having a really good roast beef sandwich I guess, just on another level. Tried, tested and true…always there for you in a time of need; even when you and your buddies are having a competition to see just who can eat the most. The price of these helps in that department as well.
*Honorable sandwich mention: The Cluck Sandwich. This one is their best chicken sandwich, combining the deep fried chicken filet with pickles, of all things. That’s a spectacular pairing that not all restaurants offer. Well worth the money. And with the addition of Jack’s Good Good Sauce added to the mix, you’ll certainly be satisfied with this one.
2. Tiny Tacos
Remember I said at the start of this piece that if you can’t decide what type of cuisine you wanted, Jack in the Box pretty much had it all? Well, the next two items prove just that, dear readers.
The tiny tacos offer a beautiful component to any meal as a side. Compact but so tasty, they deliver and satisfy that Tex-Mex feeling that comes over us all at some point during the long week.
They also offer “loaded” Tiny tacos, topped with taco sauce and shredded lettuce.
1. Jumbo Egg Rolls
Ah…here they are; so simple but yet so perfect. Egg rolls are the star of any Chinese restaurant menu. Heck egg rolls really can’t be messed up, or at least they shouldn’t. They’re even good from the grocery store frozen section. But when you don’t want to do anything, even placing some prepared egg roles in your very own oven, a run to Jack in the Box will satisfy you for sure.
So there you have it…something for everyone as promised. And if you still can’t decide, why not have a little of everything? I’d go for an Ultimate Cheeseburger with a side of egg rolls any day.
