Big Restaurant Bet episode 5: Front of the house is chaos
Big Restaurant Bet was back for its fifth episode and instead of cooking, this week the final three chefs were in the front of the house. That means they had to deal with customers, waiters, and the chefs working for them. It was utter chaos.
The episode started off with Chef Zakarian making each chef an omelet and asking them about the financial side of their business. Based on his reaction, some of the answers were better than others. He didn’t seem to like that Chef T didn’t want to be the executive chef every day and was kind of aggressive when Chef Mariana talked about paying herself.
After that, the chefs each had their own time in the front of the house. But it wasn’t just like any other day. Chef Zakarian stocked the restaurant with actors who were told to make a scene, act unprofessionally, or in the case of one of the chefs working in the back, quit in the middle of service. It was a big mess. Like a panic attack waiting to happen.
But luckily, overall, Chef T, Chef Alicia, and Chef Mariana did pretty well. Although Chef Alicia was the only one to really deal with the shouting couple and Chef Mariana was the only one to find the hair in the salad (ew!), they all did a good job with the angry chef and the waiter who ate food while working (he drank right from a carafe of wine!!).
Big Restaurant Bet brought the chef’s to the front of the house
After the stressful day at the front of the house, it was time to send someone home. Chef Alicia was awarded the top spot. She definitely knew how to deal with most of the major issues. And unfortunately, that meant Chef Mariana was the one to go home. She didn’t deal with the shouting couple at all and seemed more nervous than assertive.
While this episode was more entertaining than most, you could definitely feel the competitive vibes between the final three chefs and they weren’t exactly friendly vibes.
But with only two chefs left, that means next week will be the finale. Chef T and Chef Alicia are going to have to run a restaurant for real. And based on the preview, not all the food is going to be as good as Chef Zakarian wants it to be.
