Mountain Dew aka MTN DEW is infamous for their limited edition flavors and exclusive brand partnerships. I have visited many a Taco Bell just to get some Baja Blast! The brand continues to pump out exciting new flavors for the masses. Most recently, they added limited edition Flamin’ Hot, a spicy and citrus flavored soda, and Raspberry Lemonade flavored Mountain Dew Spark.

Last week, they added another new flavor to their lineup: Purple Thunder. According to a press release that was shared with Guilty Eats, new Mountain Dew Purple Thunder “combines the mouth-watering flavors of blackberry and plum for the ultimate tastebud experience.”

The soda, as the name suggests, is a bright purple color and the bottle label features, “its own biker gang of DEW characters – including a plum and blackberry enjoying the sweetest ride of their life.”

Mountain Dew debuts new Purple Thunder flavor exclusively at Circle K Stores.

However, this new flavor is in collaboration with Circle K. It is being sold exclusively at their convenience stores located throughout the country. This is unfortunate news for me as my nearest Circle K store is 40 minutes away. This means that it’s not going to be easy for me to get my fill of Purple Thunder.

This new flavor will be available in 20 oz. plastic bottles and as a fountain soda. Those that live close to a Circle K can sign up for their Sip & Save program. For just $5.99 a month, members can enjoy a dispensed beverage (up to 64 ounces, including hot and iced coffee, PolarPop, Froster, or hot or iced tea) every day. Just think of all the Purple Thunder you can enjoy!

This newest location-specific collab joins March’s Mountain Dew Legend at Buffalo Wild Wings and last fall’s Mountain Dew Dark Berry Bash at Applebee’s restaurants. Will there be other collabs in the future? My guess is that it’s highly likely!

Guilty Eaters, what is your favorite flavor of Mountain Dew? Do you have a Circle K near you? If so, will you be trying the new Purple Thunder?
