Fox has made all our dreams come true by renewing the very unique baking competition show, Crime Scene Kitchen. With the season 1 finale airing in July 2021, fans have been waiting almost a year for news about whether the show was coming back or not. No one could be blamed for thinking Fox quietly canceled this one. But luckily, they didn’t!
The show feature teams of bakers who must look for clues in the Crime Scene Kitchen to figure out what dessert they are supposed to make. With those clues in hand, they then must head to their kitchens and bake their hearts out.
Whichever team gets the closest to what the judges are looking for wins and the team that does the worst goes home. This occurs each week until the finale when the final three teams are given the ultimate challenge to show off their skills. Whoever impressed the judges the most won. Last season, it was Natalie and Luis.
The show is hosted by Joel McHale and the judges include Chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp. These three are the perfect combination of hilarious (McHale), serious (Stone), and fun and supportive (Gampp). They, along with the premise and the contestants, are what made the first season so great.
Crime Scene Kitchen renewed for season 2
But there could be one issue with the show being renewed. It was also just announced that Chef Curtis Stone is going to be one of the chefs on Netflix’s reboot of the culinary competition show, Iron Chef: Quest for the Iron Legend.
Luckily, it looks like the new Netflix series has already been filmed since it comes out on June 15, 2022. So hopefully that means Curtis will be free to be a judge on the new season. Fingers crossed!
