Taco Bell testing new Grilled Cheese Biscuits

When you think of Taco Bell, certain menu items instantly leap to mind. Tacos (obviously) as well as burritos, chalupas, their seasonal Nacho Fries and the recently resurrected Mexican Pizza are all fast food favorites that bring people back again and again.

However, biscuits are not something you would normally associate with Taco Bell. Kentucky Fried Chicken yes but The Bell? Not so much.

Well, it turns out Taco Bell may be trying to expand their reach beyond the taco crowd. It’s being reported by the Taco Tuesday lovers at Chewboom that the fast food chain is testing new Grilled Cheese Bicuits at a handful of their their Knoxville, Tennessee locations.

The new Taco Bell Grilled Cheese Biscuits come in two different varieties.

So what exactly is a Grilled Cheese Biscuit? Probably not what you are expecting. Instead of a grilled cheese sandwich it’s a warm buttermilk biscuit that has been topped with a three-cheese blend that is then melted into a cheesy treat.

Yeah, that sound really good to me too.

You can also get a Grilled Cheese Biscuit Sausage where the biscuit has been stuffed with a sausage patty. The fact they haven’t made one available with bacon could be one of the great fast food mysteries of our time.

If you live near the Knoxville area make sure you head to the Taco Bell drive-thru and try one of these. It’ll only set you back $1.99 for the plain and $2.49 for the sausage version. The rest of us will have to wait until they discover how good this sounds and they inevitably get released nationwide.
