The Easy-Bake Oven was first introduced in 1963 and has been a popular toy (more or less) ever since. Now the toy is being turned into a baking competition show for Netflix. Easy-Bake Battle will hit the streaming service this fall and will be hosted by Queer Eye‘s resident foodie Antoni Porowski.

While the Easy-Bake Oven is mainly a kid’s toy, Easy-Bake Battle will be for adults only. The show will follow a group of home chefs who will go head-to-head against one another in two different rounds: one savory, one sweet. And they will only be able to use an Easy-Bake Oven to make all of their dishes.

For each battle, the winner will receive $25,000 and whoever wins the whole series will be able to win up to $100,000.

Porowski will not be the only celebrity on the show. The guest judges will include Iron Chef‘s Kristen Kish and Nailed It‘s Jacques Torres. Porowski is also executive producing the show as well.

With the success of Is It Cake?, it’s no surprise Netflix is adding more unique cooking competitions to their lineup and if there’s one thing you can say about this new show, it’s definitely unique. Watching adults make amazing food using only a child’s toy oven is not something you see every day.

If nothing else, it’s sure to increase the sales of the Hasbro toy. I remember wanting one when I was a kid in the 90s but I got a Mrs. Field’s oven instead. I was not happy with the replacement but that didn’t stop me from making one chocolate chip cookie at a time.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the home cooks make and how they make it with only a small heating source to cook their food with. At least they don’t have to use a lightbulb as that was retired in 2007.
