June 10 is National Iced Tea Day and that means that this is the perfect time to try something new. And luckily for us, Celestial Seasonings seems to agree with us.

When we think of iced tea, Celestial Seasonings might not be the first tea brand to come to mind. Instead, we often think of them as the hot tea of winter, the tea we turn to when we want to relax, or even the tea we think of when we have a cold and want a pick-me-up. But with this newest line of products, that all changes.

Introducing the new Cold Brew teas from Celestial Seasonings! According to the press email we received on behalf of the brand,

"With Celestial Seasonings Cold Brew, if you have 5 minutes and cold water, you can have a quick glass of delicious iced tea, and these recipes provide a fresh take on a traditional thirst quencher. There are five fun flavors to choose from for this summer, including: Sweetened Black Tea with Lemon; Half and Half; Citrus Sunrise; Red, White & Blueberry; and Unsweetened Black Tea."

Celestial Seasonings is ready to celebrate National Iced Tea Day with their line of Cold Brew teas

Considering the popularity of Cold Brew coffee, it absolutely makes sense to introduce a Cold Brew tea. And the fact that it comes from Celestial Seasonings makes perfect sense too, as they have such a wide variety of teas to begin with.

We are actually pretty excited to get our hands on the Sweetened Black Tea with Lemon and the Citrus Sunrise so we can try those for ourselves. And in the meantime, if you are looking for a perfect treat to enjoy on National Iced Tea Day and all summer long, the brand has the perfect recipe to make that happen (although it is not made with one of their Cold Brew teas).

Just in time for the warm summer months, they have the perfect recipe with their Country Peach Passion Sorbet!

What you need:

  • 3 Cups of peaches that have been peeled and cubed (you can use fresh of frozen peaches)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons (depending on your preference) of sugar syrup (you can also substitute the sugar syrup with honey or agave nectar)
  • 2 bag of the Celestial Seasonings Country Peach Passion tea
  • Lemon juice for taste

What to do:

"Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil. Pour 2 cups of water over two tea bags in a cup. Steep 4 to 6 minutes and remove bags. While water is boiling, cut up fruit into ½ cubes. If using fresh fruit, lay out the fruit in a single layer on parchment paper lined baking trays (it’s ok if the fruits touch). Freese the fruits completely and store them in freezer bags. If using frozen fruit, roughly weigh out 8 oz of them and place it in a small food processor or ice crushing blender. Pulse to crush the fruits into small pieces and add the simple syrup, a tablespoon at a time (while pulsing) to create a smooth sorbet-like paste. (When using a blender it’s best to use it in short bursts as the blades heat up and this could melt your sorbet. The smaller the fruit pieces the faster it will puree. Just keep an eye on it.) Add a squeeze of lemon juice and run the blender for a few seconds to mix. Spoon it into a bowl and serve immediately- or store in the freezer until ready to serve."

Sounds amazing to us! And we can’t wait to give this recipe a try for ourselves as we know this will be the perfect summer treat.

But we want to know how you plan to celebrate National Iced Tea Day. Will you be giving the new Celestial Seasonings Cold Brew teas a try? Have you seen these in a store near you yet? We want to know.
