On June 19th we not only get to honor all the dads in our lives for Father’s Day, but we also get to celebrate National Martini Day. Why not combine the two holidays and make dad a martini?

The Martini is a classic cocktail usually recognizable by the eponymous glassware it’s served in. It is traditionally made with gin and vermouth and garnished with an olive or maybe a twist of lemon. It’s also been known to be made with vodka or alternatively served in a shallow, stemmed coupe glass. Any which way you prefer to enjoy your Martini, one of these cocktail recipes will surely please especially on National Martini Day!

Enjoy a Martini on National Martini Day!

Belvedere Vodka has been producing their Polish rye vodka in the United States since 2006. They shared their vodka variation of the martini below.

Belvedere Martini

Ingredients:
2 oz Belvedere Vodka
.25 oz Dry Vermouth

Method: Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and stir over ice until very cold. Strain into a chilled Martini glass and garnish with a pink grapefruit twist.

Gray Whale Gin’s name was inspired by the large gray mammal they saw while driving along the Pacific coastline. A portion of every bottle of gin sold is donated to Oceana, to help support ocean conservation. This is their recipe for the classic cocktail:

The Ice Breaker

Ingredients:
2:1 parts Gray Whale Gin and dry vermouth
2 dashes orange bitters
Lemon twist (garnish)
Sprig of dill (garnish)

Method: Stir with ice, strain into coupe glass. Garnish with lemon twist + sprig of dill.

Le Tini

Ingredients:
1.5oz Le Moné Meyer Lemon
1.5oz Dry Gin (dealers choice)

Method: Stirred with ice and strained into a Martini glass served with a twist.
Optional: Add Freestyle Snacks olives
