National Ice Cream Day is coming on Sunday, July 17 and this year, DiGiorno is celebrating in a very special way. You might wonder what a pizza brand could possibly do on a holiday all about ice cream. It’s definitely a surprise.
DiGiorno is coming out with ice cream cones made out of their pizza crust. Yes, you read that correctly. But it’s not just their regular pizza crust they are using. They are taking their new Croissant Crust and making it into cones. Why did no one think of this before? Croissants and ice cream? Yes, please.
The pizza brand is also teaming up with a Cleveland-based creamery to create two new ice cream flavors that will go perfectly with these Croissant Crust cones. What are the two flavors? Good question. They include Strawberry Tomato Basil ice cream and Parmesan Cheese ice cream. The first sounds good. The second is intriguing, to say the least.

The Strawberry Tomato Basil ice cream combines tomato and strawberry jam with basil and pepper to give it a little bit of a kick. The parmesan flavor is exactly like it sounds. I don’t know how well parmesan and sugar will go together. The salt of Parmesan could make for an interesting sweet and salty combo but the cheese element still sounds weird.
Unfortunately, not just anyone can get these cones and these unique ice cream flavors. DiGiorno is running a giveaway. Starting on July 7 through July 17, you can enter online for a chance to win two Croissant Crust cones and a pint of each of the two ice cream flavors. You also get a grocery card to buy any topping you may want.
