For the “Tag Team” challenge this season on MasterChef, it is all about creating three signature dishes straight from Gordon Ramsay’s own restaurants, which means its all about creating a three course meal. And that means that things are about to get even hotter in the kitchen.

While only one chef is going home in this MasterChef challenge, whichever duo wins will see both chefs getting immunity for the next challenge. So there is a lot on the line with this challenge.

And while Michael has immunity this week, he still has to cook since there are 12 chefs left including him. But this also opens the door for him to be the first chef to get back-to-back immunity.

With the chefs getting to choose who they will partner with, you would think people would consider the personalities of their competition when choosing who to work with. But it certainly seems like there were some people who did not think things through when choosing their partner.

Perhaps the only teams that seemed to be working smoothly with each other right off the bat were the team of Michael and Derrick and the team of Fred and Dara (based on what we can see on our screens of course). But some of the bigger personalities definitely seemed like they were having a hard time working in harmony with each other, especially with the communication that is needed to make things happen.

That being said, no matter how well people are working together, that does not negate the fact that there are clearly issues at just about every station in the MasterChef kitchen. In fact, at one point it was clear that Fred and Dara had their own issues with getting things done the way it is supposed to be done (and it showed once we got to judging).

Once time was called, the only team that genuinely seemed to be not only happy with what they did, but also with each other had to be Michael and Derrick. Their joy was so clear that it made the whole challenge worth watching. And it was definitely something we loved to see, because there was also a lot of defeat to be seen in the kitchen, with people less than happy with their partnerships and their dishes.

Unlike previous challenges, this time everyone heads up for judging before we get a bottom set of chefs and a top set of chefs.

But who are our top chefs this time? The two teams are Derrick & Michael and Shanika & Bowen!

So which duo won immunity for the next challenge? It was all about Shanika and Bowen for the immunity win.

And which chefs are at the bottom? The two teams in the bottom were Dara & Fred and Emily & Gabriel.

Unfortunately, the chef going home following the Tag Team challenge is Gabriel.
