Pumpkin Spice season has arrived at Dunkin’ and with it the Pumpkin Spice Latte. And when you go to order that latte, do you know what you’re getting?

Are you snagging a regular latte or are you going for a signature latte? Do you even know what the difference is between the regular lattes and the signature lattes?

We were recently confronted with the fact that we had no clue what the person taking our order meant when they asked if we wanted a Signature Latte when we order our Pumpkin Spice Latte. And not knowing what they were asking us, we just said yes. After getting our drink (and not really thinking about what made it different from a normal latte), we decided to head to the Dunkin’ website and figure out the difference between the two versions of a latte that the brand offers.

What’s the difference between a Dunkin’ Latte and a Signature Latte?

According to the Dunkin order page, a Signature Latte is how they jazz up a classic. It is all about adding “a delicious twist with whipped cream, drizzle and toppings.” So no matter what your favorite latte is, if you want to take it up a notch, make it a signature!

Of course, a classic iced latte at Dunkin’ is “Made with milk blended with our rich, freshly ground and brewed espresso, our Iced Latte has the perfect balance of cool and creamy to get you goin’.” Sounds amazing right? And of course, the same holds true for their hot lattes, although they of course hold the ice (obviously).

In fine print on the iced latte page, Dunkin’ lets their customers know that whipped cream does not come on their regular lattes and that it can be added by request as an add-on. But if you really want to add that whipped cream, why not go all out and just make it a Signature Latte with that whipped cream, drizzle, and toppings?

We can’t wait to head to Dunkin’ fully armed with the knowledge of what a classic Latte is versus a Signature Latte.
