Have you ever flown on a Delta airplane? Have you had a chance to try any of their in-flight dining options during your travels? Well thanks to a new partnership, your next meal could be fine dining courtesy of a James Beard Foundation award winning chef.

According to a press email we received on behalf of Delta (and that can be found over on the Delta Hub page) we learned that Chef Mashama Bailey would be working with the airline to create a very special in-flight menu inspired by the Southern cuisine that she is know for. It’s a special partnership that brings fine dining to the friendly skies.

But what else did we learn about this partnership which kicked off at the beginning of September?

Delta Airlines partners with Chef Mashama Bailey to bring her southern cuisine to travelers

According to the Delta Hub,

"Delta customers departing Atlanta will be treated to the Chef’s curated Southern-inspired meals, featuring locally sourced produce. The dishes include:A flounder and oyster dish with fume blac, green apple, potato, bock choy and turnipsShort ribs with kanni sauce and smoked collard greensVegan vegetable tagine with roasted sweet potato topped with a chermoula sauceButtermilk cornmeal tres leches with candied kumquats and mandarin oranges"

Do those meals sound as amazing to you as they do to us? Would you be excited to see any of these meals on a flight out of Atlanta? From the short ribs to the dessert, these dishes are fine dining with that southern flair and we can’t resist that.

We can’t help but feel like these meals take travel to a whole new level and it is one that we can’t ignore. In fact, we think this would be great motivation to get us on a plane.

But what do you think fellow foodies? Do these meals make you want to hop a plane?
