Best in Dough premieres with an episode dedicated to Nonnas

Is there anything better than pizza? Maybe, maybe not. But thanks to Best in Dough on Hulu, we get all the pizza shenanigans we could ask for.

If there is one thing you can count on when it comes to Guilty Eats, it is that we love our cooking competitions! And the latest offering in the world of competitive cooking comes to us from Hulu. Best in Dough is a fun romp through the world of pizza cooking hosted by former Bachelorette contestant Wells Adams.

Right off the bat, this series proves that it is going to be just as much about the fun as it is the actual pizza making experience. And what better way to kick things off then by getting Nonnas to cook pizza?

It’s time for the Nonnas to show off their pizza making skills on Best in Dough

Over on Hulu, the series premiere was actually a three episode drop that let us start with three Nonnas from Italy, before they introduced us to three pizza influencers, followed by pizza making pit masters.

And yes, we binge watched all three episodes immediately! But for us, that premiere episode was everything we could have wanted in a new cooking competition and more. Not only do we love that this series is dedicated to pizza making (which is a fun but technical challenge), but the judging is interesting too. Having a judging panel that includes our host, as well as a jury of “peers” whose vote counts for double that of a single judge is a really cool way of making it feel like a more fair playing ground for our competitors.

It is also hard to deny that the premiere, which featured the Nonnas, was actually a lot of fun. Not only did we get to see three grandmothers making pizzas based on trends, but we also got to see them make a pizza that reminded them of their home in Italy. These are flavors that they may have grown up with, or even flavors that reminded them of their region of Italy. And we loved every moment of it. From the sassy grandmas to the delicious flavor profiles, there was a lot to love right away.

We can’t wait for more Best in Dough episodes to drop on Hulu. And hopefully this competition brings in the viewers so that we can get another season, because after just three episodes we know we need more of this pizza making magic. (And yes, Wells Adams is a great host so that helps too.)
