The MasterChef: Back to Win season has come to an end and with it, we have one last interview with one of the season’s cheftestants. As our final interview of the 12th season, we got the opportunity to ask Chef Christian Green a few questions about his time on the season, if he would do it again, and our age old question of what is his guilty eat.

Considering the journey that Christian went on during MasterChef‘s fan-favorites season, we can’t help but want to know what this experience was like for him. And while there are so many things we could have asked him about being in the final, what it meant to prepare the dishes he did for his last menu, and more, we decided to stick to questions about what the actual experience was like for him.

So if you want one last taste of MasterChef magic for the 2022 season, have no fear because here is what Christian had to stay about his time on this season of the FOX hit.

Guilty Eats: What inspired you to return to the MasterChef kitchen?

Christian Green: “Family mostly. My grandmother & my mother inspired me to stay in the kitchen throughout the years. I also feel like my work wasn’t done in Season 5 so I knew I had to come back.”

GE: What was the best part about being back on MasterChef for you?

CG: “The best part was being able to redeem myself & show the world how much I’ve grown as a personal chef & continue learning from Gordon Ramsey.”

GE: What was the biggest challenge for you?

CG: “The biggest challenge was to put my life on hold to return to the show. I gave up my apartment & stopped everything. I even missed my son’s birthday so that was challenging for me but I knew I was doing this all for him.”

GE: What do you hope viewers took away from your return?

CG: “How passionate I am about what I do.”

GE: Would you do it again?

CG: “At this point, I truly don’t know. That was a long process mentally & at this stage in my career, I need to continue on the path that’s ahead of me. If MasterChef comes around again, I’ll have to see where I am in my life at that time.”

GE: What’s next for you?

CG: “I’m anticipating the release of my cookbook as well as my line of products. I will also spend the next couple of months doing a dining tour throughout the country.”

GE: Is there anything you want people to know about this experience that you didn’t get to share on screen?

CG: “I’m a really great person. I love what I do and I’m really passionate about it. Sometimes, passion can come across as aggression, but I truly believe I’m a force to be reckoned with.”

GE: Finally, we are called Guilty Eats, so my final question is: What is your guilty eat?

CG: “I love buttercream cake!”
