Bobby Flay has a brand new series over on Food Network. But this time, he isn’t the one doing the cooking.

Introducing Bobby’s Triple Threat, a series where he brings his titans to the kitchen for them to do the cooking. In the premiere episode we meet our three titans of the culinary world, who are also some very familiar faces to fans of Food Network – Brooke Williamson, Michael Voltaggio, and Tiffany Derry. And we learn that there is a $25,000 prize on the line for the challenger if they can take down Bobby’s titans.

For this premiere episode, our chefs are being challenged by Jonathon Sawyer, who is welcomed into the kitchen after sharing the special password, “Gazpacho.” Off the bat, we learn that our challenger gets to choose the order in which he takes on the titans. And once he chooses Tiffany Derry, they get to cooking with oysters.

Bobby Flay is bringing a new competition to Food Network with his new Bobby’s Triple Threat

The judge of the episode is the legendary Nancy Silverton. And it is clear right away that she is going to be a hard judge to please. With this being a blind judging, she doesn’t know which chef’s dish she is eating. Instead it is all about the execution, the presentation, and of course of the flavors.

Right away it is our Titan, Tiffany Derry, who gets the win in terms of points with 8 points to the challenger’s 6.

In the second round, Chef Sawyer took on Michael Voltaggio with a challenge that revolved around blue cheese. This time the judging was even harder, with Chef Voltaggio earning only 7 points to bring the titans up to 15 points, while Chef Sawyer earned just 5 points to bring his total to 11.

For the final round, it was Brooke Williamson versus Chef Sawyer. And not only does the challenger get to choose the ingredients, but they only get one dish to make an impression. Plus, the points are doubled this time, with a chance to earn up to 20 points.

This time, Chef Sawyer opted for chicken eggs and truffles. And while both chefs brought it with their flavors, they were definitely not thinking along the same lines when it came to making those eggs and truffle a star.

Ultimately, both chefs earned 15 points each for their final dishes. And this meant that at the end of the night the titans earned a combined score of 30 points to the challengers 26 points. So in this battle, it was the titans who came out victorious and blocking Chef Sawyer from walking away with the $25,000 prize.

After this first episode, it is clear that there is going to be some serious cooking happening in this kitchen. And while it may not be Chef Bobby Flay doing the cooking, he is definitely present throughout the episode. Not only because he is the host of the competition, but because he is the one bringing these chefs together.

We enjoyed this first episode of Bobby’s Triple Threat. And we can’t wait to see what comes next for the titans.
