National Vodka Day is celebrated on October 4th. Vodka is one of the most popular spirits, often used as a mixer in cocktails and occasionally sipped neat. To help celebrate the holiday, we’ve rounded up five vodkas that may not have been on your radar that we think are worth trying.

Broken Shed Vodka
Broken Shed Vodka is distilled in New Zealand. It’s made using a blend of only three ingredients: mountain mineral water, mountain spring water, and the highest-quality distilled whey. The company recommends drinking its vodka “neat and not too cold.” According to a press email, the vodka’s tasting notes include “a subtle blend of citrus and freshly cut southern grass, a velvety mouthfeel, and butterscotch vanilla.” It has no additives or sugars and is gluten-free. It is recommended that you first sip this vodka neat. Then if you need some cocktail inspiration, check out the library of recipes on the Broken Shed Vodka website. The vodka has a suggested retail price of $29.99 for a 750 mL bottle.

Humboldt Distillery
This distillery is named after the county in California that it is located in. The county is situated in the north western part of the state and borders the Pacific Ocean. Two of the notable vodkas they make are Humboldt Organic Vodka and Humboldt’s Finest Hemp infused Vodka. Their organic vodka is made using organic sugar cane. It’s a smooth enough spirit that it can be sipped on its own or it makes a great mixer for cocktails. This vodka retails for $24.99 for a 750 mL bottle. The distillery recognizes the importance of clean water and donates $1 of each bottle’s sales to the California Coastkeeper Alliance.

Humboldt’s Finest Hemp infused Vodka is, as the name suggests, a vodka infused with locally-grown hemp seed. According to the company’s website, this spirit “presents notes of pine, cucumber, green tea, lemongrass and basil.”  This infused vodka is supposed to drink like a gin but also works well as a mixer. A 750 mL bottle has a suggested retail of $24.99.

King St. Vodka
King St. Vodka is the creation of celebrity Kate Hudson. The vodka is distilled in Santa Barbara, California. This vodka, produced by Master Distiller Ian Cutler, is made with pH balanced alkaline water. It’s distilled seven times and then filtered, which results in a  smooth finish. This vodka is made from non-GMO corn and is gluten free. The bottle is aesthetically pleasing, with its floral label and would make a nice addition to a bar cart. To help you celebrate National Vodka Day, between October 2nd and October 9th, the company is offering free shipping on bottles ordered from the site with the code: VODKADAY.

Ocean Organic Vodka
The first thing that stands out about Ocean Organic Vodka is its unique rounded bottle shape. Next, you notice the teal blue color. This vodka is distilled in Kula, Maui, Hawai’i on the Hawaii Sea Spirits Farm and Distillery under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Bill Scott. The vodka is made from organic sugar cane and deep ocean mineral water drawn from 3,000 feet below the surface of the Kona coast. This vodka is smooth enough to be enjoyed neat, but also makes a great mixer. A 750 mL bottle retails online for $26.99.
