Halloween is fast approaching so candy is pretty much at the top of everyone’s mind right now. Even if you’re an adult who hasn’t trick or treated for decades, you still find yourself thinking of candy bars such as Milky Way and Snickers this time of year.

Speaking of the Milky Way, it is one of the oldest candy bars around, dating back to 1923 and ever since it has been a favorite of just about everybody. Nougat topped with caramel and then the whole thing is wrapped in a layer of milk chocolate? What’s there not to like?

Over the years Mars has tinkered with the concept, usually replacing the nougat with something else. Sometimes it works and other times, not so much. That being said, if a report from a recent trade show is to be believed, a new version of the Milky Way might be incoming and it could be awesome.

The Milky Way Cookie Dough Candy Bar is scheduled to arrive in 2023.

According to social media, Mars is preparing to introduce a brand new Milky Way Cookie Dough Candy Bar. While information is scarce, many are assuming that the nougat will be replaced with a type of cookie dough.

Now, as much as everybody loves nougat, there is almost nothing that can’t be made better by adding cookie dough. It’s the bacon of the candy world and adding it to a Milky Way can only be considered a stroke of genius.

At this point there is almost no information about a release date or what exactly is in the new candy bar. All that is known for certain is that Mars plans to introduce the new candy in 2023. Which means if it does well (and why wouldn’t it?) you should be able to enjoy one in time for next Halloween.
