Eggo introduces new Eggo Nog for the holidays
By D. Goodman
There are few things (other than pumpkin everything) that screams the arrival of the holidays like eggnog. Some people hate it, most people love it, but eggnog is as traditional as trees, carols and not being able to find a parking space at the mall. “So,” I hear you thinking. “What does this have to do with Eggo Waffles?”
Well we’re glad you asked. According to the press email we received, it seems that the makers of the frozen waffles that everyone knows and loves (whether you’ll admit it or not) has decided to get into the holiday spirits game. And with a name like theirs, there was only one holiday drink they could possibly introduce.
Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Eggo Nog, a new eggnog liqueur from the makers of frozen waffles that has what could be the greatest name ever created for a product. I mean, we would drink that just based on the name alone.
Eggo Nog will be available everywhere throughout the 2022 Christmas season.
The full name is Eggo Nog Appalachian Sippin’ Cream and it is being made through a partnership with Sugarlands Distilling Co. located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The new spirit is a rum-based liqueur with cinnamon and nutmeg flavors that they say pairs perfectly with the brand’s waffles.
If we’re being honest, that sounds so good we think it would pair perfectly with just about anything, but you should judge for yourself.
Marketing Director Joe Beauprez says that the brand decided to create the new spirit as a way to help busy parents deal with the always hectic holidays.
"“We created Eggo Nog to give parents a delicious way to indulge in some well-deserved ‘evening me time.’ Paired perfectly with our Eggo Thick & Fluffy Waffles – maybe even topped with a dollop of ice cream – Eggo Nog is sure to help parents L’Eggo during one of the busiest times of the year.”"
The new holiday spirit is currently available nationwide at select retailers. If you’re having issues finding some, head to Sugerlands.com/EggoNog to find a retailer near you.
