For the fifth episode of Bobby’s Triple Threat, Bobby brings a challenger who has actually beat him twice – once on Iron Chef and once on Beat Bobby Flay. The challenger is none other than Chef Viet Pham.

In round one, the ingredients Bobby chose are pork tenderloin and apples. The chefs have to make two dishes with these ingredients. But now Chef Pham has to choose his titan, and right off the top he chose Michael Voltaggio as his competition.

With two immensely talented chefs going head to head, this first round is bringing the heat. But by the final 10 minutes, it actually looks like Chef Voltaggio is behind with his pork. (And listening to his fellow titans, it’s clear that they believe there are issues with his pork tenderloin.)

For the judging, we have Frank Prisinzano who makes it clear he doesn’t want “mumble jumbled” flavors. So how did our chefs do with this round of judging? Our Titan earned the team 9 points, while Viet Pham earned 5 points.

Bobby’s Triple Threat sees Viet Pham taking on the titans

For round two, the ingredients of choice were potatoes and chives. And the titan he chose was Brooke Williamson as he felt Tiffany Derry was his greatest competition.

While these two ingredients may seem simple or even humble, with these two chefs there is definitely a lot coming to the table. And once again, we have four very different dishes that Chef Frank will have to judge, including a potato salad with a Green Goddess dressing and a trout roe topping (from Brooke).

In this round, the judging was interesting again, with some harsh words to be had. So what does this mean for the scores? This time, Chef Viet Pham earned 8 points, while our titan earned 5 points. This left the scoring as 13 for our challenger and 14 for the titans with 20 points up for grabs in the final round.

For round three of Bobby’s Triple Threat it is Viet Pham Vs Tiffany Derry and the ingredients for their one dish are chicken thighs and red cabbage. With only a one point lead, it is anyone’s game and with this being a true head to head battle of chicken sandwich versus chicken sandwich it is truly a competition.

In the final judging, there were some great comments and a few negatives as well. It’s the moment of truth for both chefs, so how did the scores shake out?

For the final scores we had Chef Viet earning 18 points, with our titan earning 10 points. The titans earned 24 points and the challenger getting 31 points. Basically, this is further proof that Chef Viet Pham might just be a chef killer when it comes to competition.

But who will take on the challenge of Bobby’s Triple Threat next?
