Halloween Baking Championship season 8 has finally come to an end and it was the spookiest episode yet. It was all about newlyweds that didn’t live much passed their wedding day and what they would have had to eat at their wedding. No one ever said this show wasn’t dark.

The first challenge had the bakers making a grazing board with two different types of snacks and they had to incorporate a type of cheese into each. The choices were cheddar, goat cheese, ricotta, and brie. One of the snacks had to be savory and one had to be sweet.

Zac made whoopie pies and quiches, Jill made paczkis (Polish donuts) and tomato, basil, and goat cheese scone, Lauren made pinwheels and cheesecake bites, and Blayre made savory hand pies and raspberry brownies.

Zac and Jill were at the top of the pack for this challenge and Lauren and Blayre were at the bottom. But host John Henson pulled a fast one and no one was sent packing. All four bakers went to the final Killer challenge.

A winner was chosen in the Halloween Baking Championship finale

For this challenge, the bakers had to make a black wedding cake that showed off a particular theme. The themes they had to choose from were roaring 20s Halloween, antique Halloween, gothic Halloween, and masquerade ball Halloween.

Jill chose roaring 20s, Zac got antique, Blayre chose gothic, and Lauren got masquerade ball.

All these cakes turned out looking amazing, but Lauren, Blayre, and Jill’s cakes were truly extraordinary. But who won the whole competition? That was Blayre with her gothic Halloween wedding cake masterpiece. It was truly gorgeous.

She won a trip to the 10 most haunted hotels in America and $25,000. Pretty nice, right?

Now, Food Network will be switching over to all their Christmas baking competition shows and we’ll have to wait until next year to see more Halloween Baking Championship.
