As we reported this week, Holiday Baking Championship is set to return to Food Network for a ninth festive season this November. The judges are back and out to find the best holiday baker in the land and enjoy some traditional Christmas treats as well.

Of course, one Christmas treat that is synonymous with the holidays is gingerbread. Whether you enjoy is in the form of a person or a house, few things are as seasonal (or delicious) as the smell of gingerbread wafting through your kitchen.

Unless it’s the imagined smell of lots and lots of gingerbread in the oven as teams of bakers try to outdo one another and create the ultimate gingerbread masterpiece.

Holiday Baking Championship: Gingerbread Showdown returns on November 7.

If that sounds like a winner to you, you’ll be thrilled to know that the popular Holiday Baking Championship spinoff Gingerbread Showdown is back for another year. Carla Hall moves from the judges table to hosting duties as she guides viewers through mountains of gingerbread.

She will be joined by judges Kalen Allen and Stephanie Boswell as each week three brand new teams of gingerbread artisans attempt to make the most spectacular gingerbread buildings to try and win the title of Gingerbread Champion.

The seven-episode holiday event premieres on November 7 at 10 PM after the debut of the new season of Holiday Baking Championship. The series will be available on both Food Network and Discovery Plus and you can follow along on social media with the hashtag #GingerbreadShowdown.
