For a fast food chain called Burger King, they sure do like to try new things with chicken. Because it feels like a week doesn’t go by that someone isn’t reporting how the Home of the Whopper has a new chicken item in some kind of test phase.

Sometimes it works and other times, not so much. After months of hype and advertising, Burger King pulled the plug on the much ballyhooed Ch’King after what felt like only a few months and replaced it with the equally ballyhooed Royal Crispy Sandwich.

Now it seems that Burger King is once again trying something new in the chicken category. Except this time instead of reinventing the wheel (or the chicken sandwich) they are trying something much more basic.

Because when in doubt, you either add bacon or, as in this case, hot sauce.

Burger King new Fiery Nuggets are only available in the Chicago area.

It is being reported by the saucy folks at Chewboom that Burger King is testing new Fiery Chicken Nuggets in the Chicago, IL area. They are priced at $2.49 for eight nuggets, the same price as a standard order of chicken nuggets without the heat.

Fiery Chicken Nuggets take the regular Burger King nuggets, which are made from white meat and then coated in crispy breading, and then they kick things up a notch. They douse the nuggets with a Triple Pepper Spicy Glaze that is similar to a Nashville Hot sauce.

At this point it isn’t known if the new Fiery Nuggets are being tested in any other locations. But considering how much people love heat, you can likely expect that these will make their way to your local Burger King sooner rather than later.
