25. Missouri

Featured Dish: Butter Cake

Three Words to Describe It: Rich, Classic, Buttery (duh)

Have you ever heard of the dessert called St. Louis Butter Cake? I’ve tried it both in ice cream form and the real deal itself, and boy is it delish! Of course it’s buttery, but it’s also the perfect balance of being super sweet, but yet not too sweet to where you can only handle so much (if that makes any sense at all). It’s a super flat cake that is normally pretty dense. Some recipes call for adding in cream cheese, while other recipes just stick to tons of butter dusted in powdered sugar.

Have you tried this delicious holiday treat yet? Your thoughts? Let’s hear it!

26. Montana

Featured Dish: Bison Meatballs

Three Words to Describe It: Delicious, Meaty, Saucy

Personally, I love eating bison. I’ve had bison burgers, ground bison, etc. Some people that I know said that it had no flavor and was dry. Did you even season it? Did you cook it correctly? For all of the people out there who said that bison has no flavor (1) you’re wrong and (2) you need to season it. Any meat will taste like a seasonless mess if you don’t add at least a little bit of salt and pepper to it! Make the bison meat into meatballs and serve with your favorite sauce or over some pasta too!
