33. North Carolina

Featured Dish: Blueberry Balsamic Pork Chops

Three Words to Describe It: Sweet, Meaty, Innovative

This recipe is really trying to elevate y’alls Christmas dinners this year. Blueberries are North Carolina’s official state fruit. Blueberry pies (while it is my personal favorite type of pie ever) have been done so many times that it just gets (only kinda) boring talking about them. Pork Chops could be the star meat on the table this year, so why not combine the two, alongside some deliciously tangy balsamic dressing for the most delectable and different dish!

Have you tried this delicious holiday treat yet? Your thoughts? Let’s hear it!

34. North Dakota

Featured Dish: Lefse

Three Words to Describe It: “Different”, Creamy, Classic

Given that North Dakota has one of the USA’s most highest percentages of having Norwegian ancestors, we just had to include a super traditional, different, and all-around delicious Norwegian dish. Bring on the Lefse. What these are are basically a soft traditional flatbread (sounds great to me already)! It’s typically made with all-purpose flour and usually contains something along the lines of potatoes, rice, butter, milk, cream, and/or lard (even fruits). Kinda like a Norwegian crepe!
