Christmas is a fun holiday for just about everyone who celebrates, save for the person who is stuck in the kitchen, slaving away over a hot stove all day. Most people like cooking for their relatives, and it also serves as a bonding experience for those who arrive, as they can help lighten the workload.

Some people, however, would like to just skip the cooking, the cleaning, and the complaining of the holiday food season, and have someone else take on that responsibility. Enter the iconic concept of “going out for Christmas dinner”.

Arguably the most notorious example of this may have been from the 1990s Christmas classic, The Santa Clause, where Tim Allen’s character Scott Calvin accidentally burns Christmas Eve dinner and takes his son out to Denny’s instead. Now, Denny’s should be open on Christmas Day but what if you want something a bit different; say, Bonefish Grill?

Could you head over to Bonefish Grill on Christmas and get some food? That’s going to be a “no”, at least according to Holiday Shopping Hours.com.

Denny’s is always a popular choice for those who have access to one. They serve their entire menu all day and many are open very late, with some open 24 hours, though Covid-19 did affect how many are still open 24 hours.

If the idea of getting pancakes at 2 AM on Christmas Day upsets you for some reason, there are other alternatives. Boston Market for example will be open on Christmas Day from 12 PM-5 PM local time at select locations.

They have a fixed menu but if you’re looking for someone else to do all the work on short-notice, I’m sure you could do far worse than roasted chicken and sides.
