You may remember a few days ago when we here at Guilty Eats reported that Burger King had decided to go back to basics when it comes to their chicken sandwiches. They are apparently refocusing their attention on their Original Chicken Sandwich which has been around for decades.

And really who can blame them? After the whole Ch’King fiasco and the less then enthusiastic response to the Royal Crispy Chicken Sandwich that replaced it, why not go back to what worked and has been working for a long time.

However, that seemingly includes more than just the Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich that we talked about last week. It’s being reported by Chewboom that it also includes a trio of new version of the chicken sandwich each inspired by a different part of the world. Burger King is calling them their International Original Chicken Sandwich lineup.

I know, catchy name, right?

The International Original Chicken Sandwiches will be at Burger King starting in January.

The new lineup includes three versions of the Original Chicken Sandwich, each offering a different taste experience.

First is the Mexican Original Chicken Sandwich we already talked about. For those that need a refresher, it includes a breaded chicken patty topped with spicy queso sauce and crispy jalapenos all on the classic long sesame seed bun.

That is followed by the American Original Chicken Sandwich. That includes a breaded chicken patty topped with lettuce and mayo on the same classic long sesame seed bun.

Finally there is the Italian Original Chicken Sandwich. This time the sesame seed bun is loaded with a breaded chicken patty topped with a couple of slices of mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce.

While none of these will set the fast food world on fire in terms of innovation, they all should have something that chicken sandwich lovers will enjoy. Which is more than could be said about the Ch’King.

All three sandwiches will be available at Burger King nationwide starting January 5, 2023.
