Say what you want about the city of New York, but one thing they do exceptionally well is pizza. We’re talking about that classic thin crust, foldable slice kind of pizza that residents of the East Coast live for. The kind of pizza that Pizza Hut also seems to love.
Way back in 1999, Pizza Hut first introduced what they called The Big New Yorker Pizza. Taking inspiration from that iconic style of pizza found in the Big Apple, the pizza was a huge hit with fans and paved they way for many of the new menu items that The Hutt later introduced.
The Big New Yorker Pizza has long been retired from the menu, but it has never been forgotten. To this day fans still clamor for the return of the larger than average pizza. Well, it’s being reported by Yahoo that fans better get ready to celebrate.
The Big New Yorker Pizza will be available at Pizza Hut starting on February 1.
They are reporting that The Big New Yorker is set to return to The Hutt starting on February 1. And even better, members of Hutt Rewards will get early access and be able to order one starting January 31.
For those that don’t remember, The Big New Yorker is a 16-inch XL pizza that has six oversized slices of cheesy goodness. The crispy crust, perfect for folding, includes marinara sauce, extra cheese, Parmesan oregano seasoning and enough pepperoni to choke a horse.
Don’t like pepperoni? You can also choose your own topping and it will still only cost you $13.99. You can also add extra toppings for an additional cost to truly make the pizza your own.
According to Lindsay Morgan, Chief Marketing Officer at Pizza Hut, they knew the time was right to bring back the fan favorite item.
"“The Big New Yorker was a huge hit when we launched it in 1999, setting the stage for future industry innovations like Pizza Hut Melts and Detroit-Style pizza. At 30% larger than our large pizza, now is the perfect time to answer our customers’ requests and bring back The Big New Yorker in a big way right before the big game next month.”"
The Big New Yorker Pizza is back for a limited time so order one while you can.
