If you can actually believe it, we are almost ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year! Love is in the air, of course, but most importantly, all sorts of different candies are completely filling the seasonal aisles of grocery stores everywhere!

We are here to talk about the best Valentine’s Day candies to get your hands on in 2023! From anything sour to classic chocolates with sweet messages on them, we are going to be diving into it all, so we hope you have a sweet tooth!

What are your favorite candies to eat on Valentine’s Day? Let’s talk about it!

In no particular order, here are the Top 13 Valentine’s Day candies to get your hands on this year:

1. Reese’s Hearts

If you’re an OG Reese’s fan, then you’ll just already know that a Reese’s always tastes better when it’s in some sort of different shape. Whether we’re talking about Christmas Trees, Pumpkins, Ghosts, and even Hearts, these little guys cannot be missed any time of the year. The feeling of unwrapping a Reese’s and seeing a non-cup shape is truly one of the best feelings in the world!

2. Hershey’s Valentine’s Day Heart-Shaped Cookie Skillet

Some people might wanna fight me on this one and say that it’s technically not a candy or chocolate, but it does have a classic chocolate in it, so it counts. This is actually really cool because it combines a classic V-Day treat, mixed with an activity. You and your loved one can enjoy some time in the kitchen while you bake this delicious chocolate cookie and enjoy your company.

3. Sour Patch Kids Hearts

To be honest with you, I kinda forgot that these actually even existed as a Valentine’s Day option. But I am so glad that I re-found them now, because they are just that good. Any sort of sour candies tend to be mine and my boyfriend’s favorites. Enjoy your favorite sour candies in the sweetest heart shapes ever to share with your loved one (or just buy your own bag).

4. Fun-Dip

There is never a bad time for a childhood classic Fun-Dip, am I right? When I was in elementary and middle school, these were probably the most popular candies that classmates gave out on Valentine’s Day. Everyone loves them and they’re super easy to find at just about any stores. The V-Day version comes with cards to write on as well as the deliciously classic and sour powders!

5. Starburst Fave-Reds

I know that Starbursts aren’t necessarily a Valentine’s Day exclusive sort of candy; however, the Fave-Reds bags and boxes remind me of the love-filled holiday in so many different ways. You can actually find the Fave-Red version of Starbursts any time of the year, so if you’re craving them beyond Valentine’s Day, then you should have no problems at all getting your hands on some!

6. Ghiradelli White Chocolate Crème Brûleé Hearts

These adorable little treats come individually wrapped with two hearts sticking together to symbolize love. They are super rich white chocolate (for a great change) heart-shaped treats that have little bits of caramelized sugar mixed within them to get that classic Crème Brûleé flavor. What could be better than a chocolate heart-shaped treat to share with your honey? Nothing.

7. Cupid’s Mix M & M’s

I’ve personally never heard of or even seen these before at someone else’s house on V-Day; however they are super cute. They are all pink, white, and red milk chocolate M & M candies all with a cute and super adorable little heart-encased M & M classic ‘M’ on them, instead of just the plain ole circle. Be sure to dump some of these into your glass candy dish this Valentine’s Day!

8. Dove Milk Chocolate Truffle Hearts

This is not only a super delicious chocolate candy to give to your special someone this year, but it also comes in some super cute packaging as well, so no need to wrap this one up, that’s for sure! It takes Dove’s ever-so-classic milk chocolate truffles, heart-shapes them and then puts them into a heart-shaped boxed container.

The best part? Every time you take a truffle, you’ll see a sweet, sweet message!

9. Valentine’s Day Candy Corn

I’ve never really dabbled in Valentine’s Day candy corn; however, since I am already a tried and true lover of the Halloween classic yet somehow hated sweet treat, I just know that these pink, red, and white ones are sure to satisfy my cravings. Coming from the brand Beulah’s or Brach’s, these delicious treats are sure to get your loved one in the sweet snacking mood that’s for sure!

10. Ferrero Rocher

These particular ball-shaped, hazelnut-flavored chocolates aren’t just a V-Day exclusive; you can actually get them all year round. However, if you want them in a super cute, great quality heart-shaped clear box, then you’ll wanna stick around for February to get your hands on one. I honestly question you if you don’t like these, but that’s okay…more for me, right?!

11. Lindt White Chocolate Strawberries & Cream Truffles

Given that I am allergic to fresh strawberries, I don’t like many things that are flavored as such; however, many people do, including my amazing boyfriend, so this one’s for him. It combines his favorite white chocolate with a delicious and creamy strawberry-flavored center, in some of the most rich chocolate truffles that you’ll ever taste. Lindt simply does truffles the best, am I right?!

12. Chocolate-Dipped Strawberry Hershey’s Kisses

Again with the strawberry-flavored chocolates here, I am well aware that chocolate-covered strawberries are a super popular thing to eat around Valentine’s Day. And while not for me, here’s a classic chocolate treat with a pink V-Day sort of twist to it. It takes a classic extra creamy milk chocolate Hershey’s Kiss and fills it with a bright red strawberry-flavored filling. Yum!

13. Tiny Conversation Hearts

I simply just cannot put out a top Valentine’s Day candies list without talking about the ever-so-classic Conversation Hearts. It was one of those candies that you’re not sure if people like, but they always eat around this time. In school, you never knew if giving these out to your classmates would send the wrong impression, but you didn’t it anyways. Such a deliciously chalky treat!

BONUS CANDY: Lindt Raspberry White Chocolate Cheesecake Truffles

I’ve never heard of these before and holy cow do they look deliciously amazing, which is why I just had to add them on as a bonus candy on today’s list over here. They are pink! Yes, they are pink-colored and raspberry-flavored white chocolate truffles with a white chocolate cheesecake-flavored filling inside of them. Okay, be right back while I wipe the drool off of the table…
