There’s still time to get a King Cake delivered to your door for Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras is upon us and with the final day being February 21, you may be trying to get your hand on a King Cake. Luckily we can get one delivered.
If there is one thing that we associate with Mardi Gras, besides the beards in New Orleans, it would have to be the King Cake. What exactly is that? A King Cake is typically a frosted treat featuring a brioche dough and a variety of fillings that can be anything from cream cheese to chocolate. The magic of a King Cake however is in the color it is all about the colors of Mardi Gras. And that means you get a lovely cake featuring purple, green, and gold.
The thing about this cake is technically it is a Bundt cake, however there is one very tiny difference. And that tiny difference happens to be the plastic baby that can be found inside the batter of one of these cakes. To find the baby in the King Cake is to gain good favor and luck, while also leaving you with the task of hosting the next year.
So now that you know about the king cake, you might be wondering how you can get one delivered to your door. Luckily, that is where Albertsons and DoorDash come into the picture.
Albertsons and DoorDash are working together again to help deliver a King Cake to your door
According to the press email we received,
"Mardi Gras celebrations aren’t complete without a traditional King Cake and Albertsons is making it easy to cross off your list with nationwide shipping through DoorDash – baby and beads included! This limited time offer is available now through Fat Tuesday, February 21st.Each decadent ring of sweet cinnamon pastry is covered in icing and dusted with purple, yellow and green sprinkles, or luster dust and serves 20-24 people."
It’s also important to note that there is more than one option that you can choose from. In fact there are four options! And on top of the four options, there are also different flavors of filling that can be chosen. Which actually makes this even more than four options.
So what are the four options? There is a Traditional King Cake for $54, a King Cake for $54, a Vanilla Creme for $54, and a Traditional King Cake and Community Coffee for $64 (the coffee is a blend from Louisiana). And remember there are also optional flavor fillings that you can choose from including traditional cinnamon, a Bavarian cream, strawberry cream, cream cheese, cream cheese with apple, and even just strawberry.
We are big fans of Albertsons and DoorDash, and we love that they partner together once again to help spread the magic of Mardi Gras to many people. And what better way to do that than by offering delivery of King Cakes to people who want to celebrate but who can’t get to a celebration?
What do you think of being able to get King Cakes delivered to your door? Is this something that you will take advantage of? Will you be ordering your own King Cake? We want to know.
