Over the years, there have been lots of different ice cream flavors. If there is a flavor you like, chances are there is an ice cream that tastes like it. Or tries to taste like it. Not all these flavor experiments have been successful. The newest unique flavor comes from Baskin-Robbins and they are taking a popular sweet and savory dish and turning it into ice cream.

Baskin-Robbins flavor of the month for March is… Chick’n and Waffles. Yes, you read that right. But before you say “ew” and run away, let me explain. There is not any chicken involved. There is no meat of any kind involved. Believe me, I checked!

The flavor actually includes buttermilk waffle-flavored ice cream that has crispy chick’n and waffle-flavored bits mixed in. The ice cream also has a bourbon maple syrup-flavored swirl. So you get the waffles, the syrup, and the “chick’n.”

While the ice cream is meant to mimic the chicken and waffles flavor, you don’t have to worry about chicken in your ice cream. That would be a step too far.

Chick’n and Waffles is Baskin-Robbins’ March flavor of the month

Having tried it myself (I was lucky enough to get a pint), I can say that if you like butter pecan ice cream, you NEED to try this flavor. It’s maple-y, a little smoky, sweet, and ridiculously smooth and delicious.

There is a little crunch from the chick’n waffle bits, but other than that, it’s smooth heaven. Not even the suggestion of chicken in sight. I could easily eat a pint of it on my own.

How can you get this unique flavor? The flavor is already available (it came out on Wednesday, March 1, 2023) so go to your local Baskin-Robbins and grab a scoop or two.

But on Tuesday, March 7, if you live in New York City, you have the chance to experience the restaurant’s first Bottomless Brunch in the city. The best kind of brunch, in my opinion. It takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baskin-Robbins on 1225 1st Ave. They are offering unlimited scoops of Chick’n and Waffles ice cream while supplies last. So get there early because you are going to want many, many scoops!
