The trailer for The Great British Bake Off Musical has arrived

Last year, we reported on the fact that a musical based on The Great British Bake Off (or The Great British Baking Show as it’s known in America) was gearing up to begin production. Many thought it was a joke or maybe an early April Fools prank.

However, we can assure you that it wasn’t. In the year since that story appeared, The Great British Bake Off Musical has become a very real thing. It has songs and dances and even a much more appealing version of Paul Hollywood.

And, it can now be revealed, an actual trailer.

The Great British Bake Off Musical began its run in London last month for a limited time.

As you can see from the trailer, there is a tent and contestants, bowls and dough and all the things fans love about The Great British Bake Off. Except now that is mixed with lots of singing and dancing and even what looks like a solo by the musical version of Mr. Hollywood.

And, if we’re being completely honest here, it doesn’t look that bad. Will this win any awards? Very doubtful. But it does look like a fun way to spend an evening out. Especially if you consider yourself a pretty big Bake Off fan.

According to their website, The Great British Bake Off Musical is having a very limited run, with performances only happening until May 13 in London’s West End at the Noël Coward Theatre. This is after a very successful run this past summer in Cheltenham.

Could this come to America? Who knows. But you can be sure that if it’s a big enough hit in London someone will think or transporting it across the pond to these shores. And if they do, we may just have to check it out.
