Sometimes nothing hits the spot like the perfect slice of pizza. And who says you’ve got to go to NYC for pizza? You can order some delicious pies right to the comfort of your own home. Here are 5 to get you started for when that pizza bug comes a calling.

Hey, folks. If you’re anything like me, then the pizza bug comes a calling quite often. You know the feeling. You’re either working or maybe even chilling and watching a little TV, and all of a sudden, wham! The pizza bug paid you a visit and quite suddenly, your life seems less complete because you don’t have a slice in your hand.

First off, delivery pizza isn’t always the best option. I definitely hear that. A lot of places cut corners, especially certain mom and pop locations. You often end up with a pale comparison to what it was you originally wanted when the aforementioned bug came calling, nibbling—no gnawing—on your subconscious mind.

That’s probably why the conglomerate pizza places known well throughout North America are the best option sometimes, and all because you know what it is you’re getting every time out.

Very much like McDonald’s in the realm of burgers and fries, large chain pizza places do it the same way every time, and it’s that consistency we count on and look to every time out.

Tired of the same old pizza delivery? Try these toppings from your favorite chains to shake things up next time you get a craving for some epic pizza…

Which brings us to this list, and the fact that these pizza chains actually do have some delicious menu items that you can’t find anywhere else, so without further ado, dear readers, and to quote Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight, “And here… we… go….”

5. Pizza Hut’s Meat Lover’s

You can’t go wrong with this one, folks. When you want some serious meat toppings and some gooey cheese and a sweet and tart sauce to go along with all that protein, then Pizza Hut’s meat lover’s option is certainly the way to go.

Oh yeah…and when it comes to The Hut, always go stuffed crust. You won’t be disappointed.

4. Papa John’s Sausage Pizza

If anything comes close to neighborhood Italian sausage pizza, the kind I used to get in the small suburban neighborhood where I worked at a videos store as a kid, then it’s definitely Papa John’s Sausage Pizza that comes closest.

No, the sausage doesn’t exactly taste like the Roma Sausage brand that little pizzeria used to use on pretty much all their dishes (it was practically infused right there in the sauce for crying out loud), but it comes close, and when it comes to fast food chains, close is good enough. If it isn’t, you can always join me in Montreal for a trip to the old neighborhood.

3. Dominos Philly Steak

And talk about not being able to make it to a particular neighborhood. When I can’t make it to Philly, a topping like this is what I’m looking for. They get pretty close to the taste of an authentic Philly cheese steak sub, and this one goes a long way.

2. Little Caesars Detroit-Style Deep Dish

Deep Dish, Chicago’s staple pizza, if you will. But who says Chi Town is the only place that does deep dish well? Detroit are pretty famous for their own take on the pizza pie known as deep dish, and Little Caesars makes a great version of this one, as stated, if deep dish is your thing.

1. Marco’s Pizza Hawaiian Chicken

Hey, Pineapple on pizza isn’t at all for everyone, yet many consider Hawaiian pizza a classic, this writer included. But when it comes to this particular chain, they took a classic and made it better by adding chicken to the mix and the results are indeed favorable.

Marco’s have a great and original crust as well. If some of the other chains kind of get that frozen pizza feel to them, these guys are a tad better at establishing that mom and pop location feel to their crust.

The only sad thing is that there are no locations as of yet in Canada, but they are vastly spread out over the beautiful United States—including a location in San Juan!

And delivery pizza you want to let us know about that you can’t get enough of, Guilty Eaters?
