Some fast-food restaurants rarely change their menus. It can be a mixed bag when it comes to McDonald’s, though.
While McDonald’s is known for some signature items including the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, or Chicken McNuggets, the chain isn’t afraid to add some items for a limited time but usually, we see them return at some point later.
Some of the biggest limited-time items in the past have been the McRib, the Shamrock Shake, and even, the Snack Wrap which we’re still waiting on. In the middle of March, we got another new addition to the limited-time menu for the fast-food giant.
The two new additions were the “Bacon Ranch McCrispy” and “Bacon Ranch Deluxe McCrispy,” one of which we were able to try and have a lot of thoughts about.
Is McDonald’s new Bacon Ranch McCrispy worth its price tag?
The golden arches aren’t known for chicken sandwiches but upon hearing about the new Bacon Ranch McCrispy, I was immediately interested. For the sake of this review, I wanted to go with the classic option. However, there is a difference between the classic and the deluxe.
The Bacon Ranch McCrispy, it’s a crispy chicken fillet topped with ranch, bacon, and pickles. As for the Deluxe version, you get the addition of tomatoes and lettuce. Either option will also give you a potato bun. As for the price, the regular Bacon Ranch McCrispy sandwich will run you around $5.09 while the deluxe goes for $5.99. These are the prices for just the sandwich although the meal will cost you close to 10 dollars for the deluxe.
Upon getting the Bacon Ranch McCrispy, I was pleasantly surprised that it was still hot as I had to wait for over 20 minutes to get it. However once I tried it, it was a really good chicken sandwich even without the bacon and ranch. Adding bacon and ranch to the sandwich took it up a level along with the pickles. I normally wouldn’t think about adding pickles to that sandwich but it was a nice crunch.
If you like chicken, bacon, and ranch together, then I’d say give it a try. While it does cost just over $5.00 for a sandwich, I feel like it’s worth it if you’re going to a McDonald’s that can get it to you in a reasonable amount of time. While I didn’t have any qualms with the sandwich, my wasted lunch break felt otherwise.
Frankly, I’d order this again as long as the wait wasn’t too long as the Bacon Ranch McCrispy was a good sandwich. It had all the elements of what could be considered a great lunch but the wait just killed me. While I’m not the biggest McDonald’s fan, I will definitely be getting this one as long as it’s available.
