Despite the fact that most people consider KFC one of the leaders in the fast food chicken game, they have never offered their chicken in nugget form on any kind of consistent basis. They have always seemed to prefer to go the tenders route instead.
Which is fine. Their chicken tenders are pretty freakin’ awesome as far as chicken tenders go.. But nuggets are pretty popular with people. Just ask the folks at your local McDonald’s and I’m pretty sure they’d be happy to explain why.
So it didn’t come as much as a shock when it was revealed that KFC was doing a test run of chicken nuggets last year. And it also shouldn’t come as a shock that the test run was a ridiculous success. Because as I’ve explained, people like nuggets.
And now the next step in the chain’s entry into the nugget game has arrived. A national rollout to restaurants everywhere.
KFC new Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets arrive nationwide on March 27.
The new Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets will officially be added to menus everywhere on March 27. They will come in only Original Recipe flavor for now but you can be sure an Extra Crispy option will be on the way if these do well.
The Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets include 100 percent white meat and are hand breaded with the iconic 11 herbs and spices the chain made its reputation on. They will be available in four different sizes which include a five piece, an eight piece, a 12 piece and finally a 36 piece for when you’re really hungry and start at just $3.49.
Additionally, KFC has also announced that they are bringing back their Mac and Cheese Bowls for a limited time starting April 3. They come in regular and spicy varieties and are topped with the new nuggets and a three-cheese blend.
Nuggets have finally come to KFC. Get some and celebrate.
