There are some candies that it seems like people have strong feelings about and Starburst and their assortment of flavors are on that list. Love them or hate them, these chews are iconic and offer some very classic flavors in every bag.

For us, the two bags that we gravitate towards are the Original, and the FaveReds. But, which flavors are at the top of our list? What flavor are we most excited to pull out of each bag? That is the question.

We all have our favorites, and there could be some controversy over what is the best flavor of Starburst. Looking at all the different flavors of Starburst, we decided to rank from best to worst the flavors found in bags of both Original and FaveReds chews.

Ranking the Original and FaveReds flavors of Starburst from worst to best

6. Orange

The orange starburst are, perhaps our least favorite flavor in the entire bag. They don’t exactly taste like the refreshing citrus fruit we all know and love, but I guess if the color orange had a flavor, these chews would be that. Don’t get me wrong the orange chews are not the worst treat out there, but they are definitely not the best flavor of Starburst ever either.

5. Watermelon

I really do enjoy fresh watermelon. But the watermelon flavor of Starburst found in the FaveReds bags is not it. It’s good, but it’s not fresh watermelon during the height of summer heat good. I would definitely not turn my nose up at this flavor, but I’m not going out of my way to hunt it down either.

4. Strawberry (Pink)

This might seem controversial, especially since the pink flavor is so popular that it’s even been granted it’s own bag of pink only Starburst, however, I do not think pink is the best flavor out there. The strawberry flavor is just okay. But it’s definitely not the best of the bag when looking at either the FaveReds or Original mixes. I think it’s just so well hyped, that some people think they enjoy it.

3. Fruit Punch

Another flavor that’s primarily found in the FaveReds bag, the fruit punch Starburst is actually a burst of flavor that really delivers. It’s not quite as delicious as the cherry flavor, but I could easily eat an entire bag of just the fruit punch flavored chews, and not feel an ounce of guilt.

2. Lemon (Yellow)

Again, a bit of controversy here, but I definitely think the yellow Starburst is better than the pink. I will admit, I love lemon anything. I will never say no to lemon-flavored treats, drinks, candies, anything. I even stock up on lemon scented hand soap (from Bath & Body Works of course) when I can. So there is no doubt that the lemon Starburst is at the top of my list when it comes to delicious flavors.

1. Cherry (Red)

When it comes to the best flavors in either the FaveReds or the Original bag of Starburst, cherry/red is definitely the winner. It does not matter which bag it is, cherry is where it’s at. Often a popular choice for people ranking the Starburst flavors, cherry is hands-down the best flavor between the two bags. The only downside is that there usually is not enough of it in any one bag.
