Jennifer Lopez draws backlash after launching her own alcohol brand
Jennifer Lopez is getting slammed by her fans on social media after announcing that she is launching her very own alcohol brand.
On April 5, Lopez took to social media to share a video and post about her new alcohol brand, Delola. Inspired by the Italian coast, the brand is bringing the magic of spritz to a wider audience. However, fans are not impressed.
While there are always those supporters of Jennifer Lopez, this time, there are a lot of people taking exception to this announcement. One of the big issues that people have is that this is a money grab. And, we can’t help but point out that most celebrity-backed alcohol brands are money grabs. They are using their fans and followers to make more money. And we let them, by buying their stuff.
However, in this case, the big issue is the fact that Lopez has admitted to having an issue with alcohol. She is not a drinker, although she will have a drink at times. And on top of not being someone who drinks much alcohol, her current husband has been in rehab a few times because of addiction and problems with drinking. This is something that her fans pointed out in the comments of her post.
Jennifer Lopez announces her new alcohol brand Delola, but many fans are not impressed
According to Page Six,
"Just minutes after Lopez shared the clip with her 240 million followers, disappointed fans rushed to the comments section to slam the performer’s decision to launch an alcohol brand."
No matter what fans may think of Jennifer Lopez launching her own alcohol brand, it’s clear that this is something that she has been working on for a while. In fact, it seems that this is a project that has been in the works for at least two years before this news dropped.
Personally, after seeing the three flavors of spritz that will be available in this line, I am actually interested in giving them a try. We don’t necessarily have to like the fact of that the singer has released a product that she herself may not enjoy, but if you take her name out of the equation, these do sound like delicious beverages perfect for summer.
But what do you think of all of this? Are you disappointed and Jennifer Lopez for releasing a product that she doesn’t necessarily support otherwise? Do you think fans are overreacting? Let us know in the comments below.
