NEW YORK, NY – FEBRUARY 09: A McDonald’s sign hangs in lower Manhattan on February 9, 2015 in New York City. McDonald’s Corporation has said sales in January fell a worse-than-expected 1.8%. While the fast-food restaurant chain said U.S. and Europe sales showed signs of improvement, Asia sales slowed. McDonald’s is facing new completion from trendier and more health conscious fast food chains like Chipotle Mexican Grill and Shake Shack. (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images)

11. Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel

The Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel is probably the most expensive item on McDonald’s breakfast menu, but it’s certainly worth the price.

The taste of a nicely cooked steak-like product (it’s not really steak, let’s not kid ourselves), the fluffiness of the egg, and the melted goodness of the cheese, all combine with grilled onions and a sauce that, even in all my years of the eating it, have never truly learned what it was, is just the perfect in a way that’s indescribable.

This is just one in the bagel family, as the other replaces the steak with bacon, and while I’m a huge fan of bacon, it just doesn’t compare to the steak. Maybe it’s the sauce and the grilled onions that truly sets it apart, I have no idea. However, the Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel deserves its spot as one of McDonald’s best menu items.

My one wish for the Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel is for it to be included in its All-Day Breakfast promotion. That would be extra cool, but they won’t do it anytime soon, mainly because the Steak, Egg, and Cheese Bagel is one of their premium breakfast sandwiches, and as such, really wouldn’t be a good fit on the All-Day Breakfast menu.

But, hey, a foodie can dream, right?
