1. Big Mac

Come on, would any other item on McDonald’s menu board be able to top the Big Mac?

Of course not.

The Big Mac is the first thing that comes to many’s minds when discussing  McDonald’s. It’s the chain’s signature burger and the one that many other fast food chains have long tried to best with their own burgers. Judging by the growing size of burgers today, the Big Mac seems a bit tame, but it still has that classic taste that keeps fans coming back for more.

As much as I researched and debated about this ranking, there was not a mock list that didn’t have the Big Mac as the top of the list. It is an iconic burger in ways that no other burger sans BK’s Whopper can match in prestige. The Big Mac first graced our taste buds in 1967, and from there, the two app beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun has been a staple in our culture.

Sure, there were other menu items that were in the running for the top spot, and some that could have made the list altogether, but I feel this list is an accurate representation of the best Ronald McDonald has to offer. Is it a perfect list? Of course not. There will be some who will disagree with the Big Mac being number one. There will be some who will disagree with the list altogether.

To those critics, I say, don’t take the ranking as literal ingestion of what McDonald’s is all about. Instead, use this ranking as a springboard to a broader discussion on the best McDonald’s menu items.
