I tried a Last Crumb cookie box and died of happiness
Not all cookies are created equal. How do I know this? Because I have been eating cookies my whole life and not many have been as amazing as the ones in the Last Crumb cookie box I was lucky enough to receive. Y’all, this is an experience. Is it expensive? Absolutely. But if you can do it, you will not be disappointed.
You will also have them for a while. These cookies are rich and if you can eat a whole one in one sitting, you’re stomach may be a bottomless pit! Last Crumb even recommends you share them by cutting them in fours. Also, you must heat them up. This is not a suggestion.
But let’s get into specifics. The box I received had 12 different cookies including:
- Life Gives Your Lemons
- Everything But
- Not Today Muffin Man
- Macadamnia
- Donkey Kong
- Netflix and Crunch
- What the ***** Velvet
- S’mores Sans Campfire
- The James Dean
- The Floor is Lava
- Better Than Sex
- The Madonna
The Last Crumb cookie box is an experience you don’t want to miss
Let’s start with favorites. The Better Than Sex chocolate chip cookie is amazing. I can’t even describe why it’s so good. It just is. I swear I will have better descriptions for my other faves but this one…it’s all I got. It’s amazing.
Next up, Life Gives You Lemons. If you like lemon bars, you need this cookie. It has a great lemon punch and the powdered sugar on the outside reminds me a lot of lemon bars. It also has a gooey center which is like the creamy custard filling of a lemon bar.
The Everything But is a birthday cake cookie that is encrusted in sprinkles. It reminds me of spritz cookies my mom used to make using a cookie gun. Did anyone else grow up with those? It’s crunchy on the outside and has soft cookie and white frosting on the inside.
You might be wondering what The James Dean is. It’s described as an Oreo milkshake and that is a perfect description. It’s like a really good brownie but with a bit of cream from the Oreo. It’s really, REALLY good.
And finally, The Madonna. I took notes while eating the cookies and I wrote my notes for The Madonna in all caps. It’s ridiculously good. It’s a peanut butter cookie with salt on top. It’s a masterpiece which is probably where it gets its name. The salt is the perfect addition as well. I would gladly take a dozen of these! It was also the last cookie I tried so you know it was good because it stood out among a lot of different flavors!
There were a few that were fine but didn’t blow my mind. Those would include the Not Today Muffin Man (tastes like a good blueberry muffin with a strong blueberry flavor), the What the ***** Velvet (has like a brownie batter filling but a little too sweet for me), and the S’mores Sans Campfire (reminds me of s’mores fondue I’ve had and has a great marshmallow pull when you break it in half).
Now for the ones that I could have done without. First up, the Macadamania. It includes macadamia nuts and salted caramel and while those sound good, it was, unfortunately, just…meh. Maybe I’m not a macadamia cookie person.
There was also the Netflix and Crunch. This was described as cinnamon toast crunch so I assumed it would be my favorite. I was wrong. It just had too much cinnamon to be enjoyable. It needed another flavor to break it up.
The Floor is Lava could have been good but the powdered sugar completely ruined it. What should have been a strong chocolate flavor (it’s lava cake, after all) was just…not there. I blame this on the powdered sugar exterior. I kept eating more of it looking for a chocolate flavor and it never came.
Now for the worst. The Donkey Kong. This was described as banana cream pie and while I got the flavor of oatmeal cream pie (like the kind you get in the snack aisle at the grocery store), I did not get banana. Apparently, this is some people’s favorite which just shows that everyone has their own unique tastes.
While I didn’t love all the cookies, the ones I did love were so good that I could understand if someone shoved a whole one in their mouth.
