Florida: Pollo Tropical

You would think that Burger King would take the crown for Florida, but nope, you’d be wrong.

While Burger King did start and is still headquartered in the Sunshine State, the land of beaches and Mickey Mouse is known for another fast food chain, one that is more tied to its tropical vibe.

That chain is Pollo Tropical, a chicken chain that serves Caribbean-inspired food in a fast food setting. Getting its start in South Florida, the chain now covers every inch of the Sunshine State and has now expanded its reach into Caribbean areas like Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.

The only other U.S. state to have Pollo Tropical is Texas, but recently, Fiesta Restaurant Group, the owner of the chain, has closed down a number of Pollo Tropicals in the Lone Star State.

So once again, that leaves Florida as really the only state where you can enjoy fast food Caribbean food, and their grilled chicken and other items will have you mighty grateful that you skipped the numerous Burger Kings that also dot the Florida fast food landscape.
