9. McDonald’s

Claim to fame: The Big Mac 

The Reason:

Ah, the Golden Arches.

Despite some bumps in the road in recent years, it seems like McDonald’s is finding its footing, and it has breakfast to thank for their recent good fortunes. A year ago, Micky D’s decided to offer some of its breakfast items all day long, and the move has paid off as it lured customers back to their stores.

They have also re-embraced the “dollar menu” and it’s stocked with some favs as well. Granted, they have had some misfires, but, unlike a few years ago, the winners are not outweighing the losers.

My only complaint is that they don’t have the McRib on the menu year-round. It’s a shame because their sales always rise during McRib time, and execs should clearly think about putting that on the menu full-time.

One can only dream, though.

Best menu item: McRib

It’s not always available, but the McRib is probably the best item on their menu. Covered in BBQ sauce, and slathered with onions and pickles, one can’t resist this yummy sandwich.

Worst menu item: Salads

Again, why would anyone head to Mickey D’s for a salad?
