8. Arby’s

Claim to fame: Roast beef sandwiches

The Reason:

Arby’s sales are up, and their menu has become fresher and more hip. Yes, they still have the roast beef sandwiches that made them the household name they are today, but now, they have complimented that with the addition of signature sandwiches such as their deep-fried turkey sandwiches and sliders.

Oh, and one cannot have an Arby’s meal without the curly fries, which, I believe, all restaurants should adopt as their own. Some may see Arby’s in the Top 10 as a bit of a shock, but judging of what they have done of late, it shouldn’t be. They’re finding their mojo, and they have the meats to back up their new tough talk.

Best menu item: Sliders

These are recent additions, but the sliders have garnered a tremendous amount of popularity and rightfully so. They’re small and pack a nice flavorful punch, and it’s easy to eat four of these babies in one sitting.

Worst menu item: Gyros

They’re not bad tasting, but they’re not inspiring and are not on the same level as the gyros you would find at your neighborhood Greek restaurant. Skip these and stay with their sandwiches.
