RICHMOND, CA – MAY 07: A sign is posted in front of a Wendy’s restaurant on May 7, 2015 in Richmond, California. Wendy’s announced plans to sell 640 of its company owned restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. Wendy’s has 6,515 restaurants worldwide. (Photo by Justin Sullivan/Getty Images) /

4. Wendy’s

Claim to fame: Square burgers

The Reason:

Now, we’re in the Top 5, and Wendy’s has certainly earned its way into this arena.

There are certainly people out there who will cape for Wendy’s at all cost, and can you fault them? The quality of their food doesn’t waver no matter which location you visit, and their value menu has become quite legendary within the fast-food world.

Chief among their immense values is the 4 for $4, which comes with your choice of a burger, nuggets, fries, and a drink. They don’t roll out their cheap burgers for this value menu, either, and I have seen many in a Wendy’s line looking like a deer in headlights, confused as to which burger they want to go with their 4 for $4.

Don’t ignore their regular menu, either, as those Dave Burgers are full of flavor and are delicious. Sure, it will run you a good $7 bucks, but the meal is worth it.

Best menu item: 4 for $4

To me, this is the best value meal going for a fast-food restaurant. The burgers are top-notch, the fries are flavorful, and you simply can’t get enough of the nuggets, which are bomb even when lukewarm.

Worst menu item: Sugar Cookie

I’m not big on Wendy’s sweets, and their sugar cookie may be the cause of it. It’s hard, and hard cookies usually make for miserable experiences.
